Happy Global Smurfs Day

It's Peyo's birthday, a.k.a. Global Laugh At Peyo's Grave Day! If you've ever played Smurfs' Village, Brainy Smurf keeps well informed about the upcoming Smurfs movie, the one that is mostly likely going to lose the adult appeal Sony Animation's last two critically acclaimed films had (not the Open Season sequels, they were direct-to-DVD), with cuss jokes and innuendo that would be more fitting in a Robot Chicken sketch, all coming from the screenwriters of Daddy Day Camp. Here is what his anticipation might lead him to!

There is a featurette for this day which reveals a subplot from the movie where the Smurfs find out about Peyo, the person who documented them, which is interesting since this differs from the cartoon adaptations where the original comics/cartoons don't exist, but I just can't believe that Sony are actually making what they're targeting to the audience who've probably already seen Enchanted and is nearly a month away from release into such a cash cow with an event like this! Many people are not looking forward to it!

By the way, they're already planning on a sequel.

_{If you complain about this, I do not want to see the movie. It does not look funny at all, and I am not the target audience. But that doesn't mean that the audience is a good reason to like it, because more kids films should appeal to more than just kids. I have even known kids comedies that actually displease them.
